Draft summary: to be reviewed by counsel before launch

Privacy Policy

A plain summary of what RentCare collects and why.

This page describes how the preview platform handles personal data. It is not yet a reviewed legal policy and must be checked against the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and registered with the Data Protection Commission before public launch.

What is collected

  • Account details you provide: name, email, phone number, role, and a password stored only as a hash.
  • Activity needed to run the service: viewing requests, applications, messages between parties, tenancy and rent records, notifications.
  • Saved homes, stored on your account.
  • Property photos and details that landlords upload.

On your device only

Recently viewed homes and recent searches are kept in your browser to power "Continue browsing" and recommendations. They are sent to RentCare only as home ids and search filters to build those rows, and are not stored on the server. A small cookie named rc_hist (value 1) tells the server to reserve space for those rows. Clear site data to remove them.

Sharing

Phone numbers are not shown to other users. Staff access follows their role and is recorded in an audit log.

Your choices

Data export, deletion and retention rules are not yet built. Until they are, contact RentCare through the Contact page.

Your location

Used to work out how far each home is from you. It stays on this device.

In Google Maps, press and hold (or right-click) your spot, then tap the numbers at the top to copy them. You can also paste a Google Maps address that contains the point.

Or pick an area (rough, not exact)
